Graduation from the Anchorage Wellness Court marks the successful completion of a rigorous 18-month treatment program. It is a time of commencement and new commitment to maintain all that has been achieved within the program without the strict monitoring and structure.

Alaska Therapeutic Court Alumni

The Alaska Therapeutic Court Alumni Group was formed in 2006 to help individuals sustain the gain achieved in therapeutic courts. The group welcomes current court participants, as well as graduates of all therapeutic courts. The logo to the right was designed by a therapeutic court participant and depicts an eagle breaking free of chains - a symbol of individuals breaking free of addiction.

The Alaska Therapeutic Court Alumni meet the first Wednesday and third Thursday of every month from 6 to 7 pm, usually at the Partners Reentry Center, 419 Barrow St, Anchorage (across from the fire station). Feel free to come, but we recommend calling 272-1192 during office hours in case the location has changed. For lifelong recovery, we need each other! More information on the Events page.

More information also available on the Alaska Therapeutic Court Alumni website.

Judge Jim Wanamaker Award

Judge Wanamaker was a trailblazer in the development of substance abuse problem-solving courts in Alaska.  He served as a District Court Judge in the 3rd Judicial District from 1993 to 2005.

This award was established in 2006 to recognize graduates of the therapeutic courts who have demonstrated outstanding progress in their recovery, have done volunteer work in the community, and who are role models for court participants and graduates.

The recipient for 2014 was Ron Wilson who received the award at the Twelfth Commencement Ceremony of the Anchorage Wellness Court, Family CARE Court and Family Preservation Court.
